Bye Seniors

Once again, its the time in the year where the Form 5's leave us and head off to continue their still young lives, leaving us here to rise up and take their place. Well, i think all of us have the same wishes to our Form 5 seniors, that is, that they succeed in their next stage of life.

To the Form 5's, all the best in your SPM, and hope you all succeed in your next stage of life. Remember to come back and visit us once in a while. We'll always welcome you. Hope you enjoyed our gifts as well. :)

Hope the remaining PMO members can all work together and bring chui guan to greater heights. Remember that all that we do is not for ourselves, but for chui guan zhu, for PMO.

Hope we all can work together for the best of chui guan zhu and PMO.

Congratulations!!!

Dear juniors,

I would like to represent the fellow seniors to congratulate you people for working so hard right after the gruesome mid-term exams. While your fellow classmates were watching Pirates of the Carribean and Kungfu Panda, you all stayed in PMO Hall practising all day. For that, we are proud of every one of you and be rest assured that you have our gratitude.

It's the holidays so go enjoy yourself because there are more practices to come in the future. Work harder to improve yourself so that we can defeat our long term nemesis, 太平华联 and 槟华. By the way, I'm surprised 日新 and 三德 didn't make it / did not participate. But anyhow, great performance.

剑舞 : The best I have ever heard, refined and beautiful. Except for one part, I wanna strangle you for that, KIN CHIN HOW. Other than that, great improvement throughout the weekends! Cheers for Suo Na, thank you for not going off tune too much! And Sheng, you all did really great with the high's and low's without exploding (you make me so proud). Di Zi, beautiful as always.

Lord of the Dance : Silver is not bad considering you guys are just freshies! (Except for that old wrinkly Wei Loon :P) The reasons (IMHO) that you all did not make it to the finals were probably because the performance wasn't as refined as the others (as in 太爆) and 拍子走了一点点. Other than that, salute the Da Di in the beginning!

Keep it up, we are keeping an eye on you. Always.

as you all know lah, seniors juniors alike, competition not far edi, say banyak banyak time edi, listen also sien edi, but seriously how many of us actually keep track of our progress?


okay lets do some counting.
today is 12th April. study lift starts end of april. so that leaves us, at most three times more of orchestral practise with mr.wong present. 3.

so..this is new news.
to make sure we make progress for competition purposes, top 6 have made it compulsary for everyone to come AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK for practise. one day friday, one day saturday, and choose two days from monday to thursday. if 2 days is too much then you at least haveeee to choose one. if two days is too little then come everyday for practise we'll gladly appreciate it (:

DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT forget ANYTHG seniors teach or taught you. anythg we teach are sooo-perb-lee critical and will help score summre points in the competition x) those two songs have been our concert songs and trust me we have the experience (:

YELLOW my fellow juniors!! :p

How are you guys doing? everything seems to be going just the way it used to be. and that's why I miss it. eventhough I can't deny I enjoy my free weekends =D

Looking at the left bar at the side there <------- I didn't realise Jia Ni they all form 3 already D: so big! how come so fast one D: then then then how come Chuen Hong and Ruey Ying they all form 4 already one! lol. Not used to it yet la. But then I believe chui guan is doing well right? Convince me that you guys are :p

Another thing, remember that only with hardwork, one can succeed. To the new members, remember that to succeed in anything, you must take the first step. and you already did! I'm glad that you picked chui guan :D Learning process might be tough and tiring, but never give up :) when you're good at it, then only will you realise how much you love dizi :P or suona or sheng. :D :D coz nothing is fun when you're not good at it. right?

As for the seniors, young and old, do not loosen up on yourselves just because you think that you're already a senior, instead never ever forget your responsibilities not only to teach your juniors but to lead a good example and inspire them to keep going during their journey. Remember to behave well as a senior or else you might end up planting bad habits into your juniors.

Thaipusam :)

Hehe...trying to post something...but nothing to post so i decided to post some info about Thaipusam....

Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February). It is celebrated not only in countries where the Tamil community constitutes a majority, but also in countries where Tamil communities are smaller, such as Singapore and Malaysia. The festival is also referred to as Thaipooyam or Thaippooyam. The word Thaipusam is derived from the month name Thai and Pusam, which refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The festival commemorates the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. There is a misconception among people that Thaipusam marks Murugan's birthday; however, it is believed that Vaikhasi Vishakam, which falls in the Vaikhasi month (May/June), is Murugan's birthday.

2010 to 2011!

Sorry i didn't post anything for the new year! But anyways school had start two weeks ago and im using this time as i am sick, to write about the start of this new year and the end of 2010 :)

In 2010, the biggest and greatest thing that happened to PMO and Chui Guan, was that we had successfully performed the seventh concert of our orchestra - 风雅颂。赋比兴。系列七之《拉萨行》. And up next on the list, which made me extremely happy, was that Chui Guan had such enthuastic new batch of little people, who have now grown into second formers. All juniors have also shown much loyalty to the orchestra, by keeping strong and persistent, when seniors were preparing for the concert, thus leaving the juniors a little behind. We hope the juniors don't mind as we were, honestly, busy, to make this concert a success. And i am proud to say, that Chui Guan has successfully made those, both the up-bringing of the juniors, and the orchestra's concert, a reality.

Exams have shown mre persistency and hardwork, not to forget, the determination of the youngs to perform at their very best. Many of you have done well, and you shall get what you deserve :D

As for 2011. The zuzhangs have recently held a meeting, a meeting to discuss the new start of teaching of Chui Guan. Especially for the form twos.
Here are some actually not so new rules (but lost rules) for the new year. FORM TWOS TAKE NOTE.

1) 教程进行中，seniors 不可自己闹玩，也不许跟新生闹玩，教程中只能有教书这个东西。（闹玩不代表不能开玩笑，闹玩代表你们男生时常像小狗一样在地上滚来滚去那种闹玩...)


2) Juniors 只被允许最多5分钟的休息时间，每次练习只被允许最多2次休息。休息只允许在华乐厅里（反正吹管能把水带进华乐厅里），最远只能去到楼下的厕所。


3) 每一位senior 在教程中一定要在，一个人在前面，其他人听。


4) 8.30 早上一定要到，无论是小的还是老的。调音以及粘笛膜。


5) make sure 9.00 早上小的已经准备好了。谱架，谱，地膜，音准等等。


6) 每一次练习都必须以基本功来开始。如：长音，吐音，五声音阶，七声音阶，双吐等等。基本功练好了才可以练歌。


7)  每一次练好了，如，完成一次的七声音阶，每一个在场的，无论是打拍子的，还是在听的，都得给评语以及点出他们的弱点，and 跟他们讲如何改变。


8) Form two 们，去年就失传了的簿子，请带回来。评语是你们去找senior或老师写的，不是 the other way around. 不要讲我们吃钱 -.-

Besides these new set of "not-so-new rules"... Here's a really new one that applies to EVERYBODY.

- Every absentees or late-comers or leaving early, MUST WRITE LETTER TO ANY OF THE ZUZHANGS. Absentees are responsible to inform their respective zuzhangs at least ONE DAY before the day to-be-absent, unless emergencies.
 

Anyways, this is this Friday's agenda:
- i want each and every junior de personal info :P (name, class, DOB, email, hp no, whether they have fb or not..haha :D)
- introduce yourselves!
- ask them to introduce themselves!
- interact AWHILE
- let them take D diao dizis from the di tong ( no dimo de)
- teach:
1) lip placement ( cross-shape placement method), try blow(open all holes first, dunid to cover any holes first) 
2) how to hold the dizi
3) DAN TIAN.
4) if everyone can manage to produce sound, lian chang yin and emphasize on using dan tian li!
5) DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT, teach zhi fa yet :)

Review 2010 :D

2010 has been a meaningful year for me, erm, when I started coming to PMO lar. xD I have so many seniors, got so many new friends in here, and of course, learnt a lot of new things, grew up a lot, haha.

The social life in PMO taught me to see the true face of everyone when I get to know them and get closer to them. The crazy chuiguan group taught me to be as hyper as them. xD

Erm.. I seriously have nothing to say.. So sorry Tan Chuen Hong. :P

Anyway, last year had been a blast for me, a good beginning of my secondary life, and a wonderful year. :)

Our Blog

First of all, I would like to congrats all the windies, who had came along with our blog. I'm so proud that this blog could be able to stay alive for near 2 years time. This blog is here, under the suggestion of Chun Hoe, our previous dizi leader, so he's just like the "mother" xD of this blog. 


So, a new year has started, I would like to insist all windies to post a short paragraph, about your life in PMO for the year 2010. Perhaps this blog would always alive, until forever. Let us bring this blog, and for sure, wind to the higher peak, as peak performers!!!


Last but not least, gambateh to all of you, as an all new year start, which means, an all new schedule should be make. The F2s, will start teaching junior this year; The F3s, will go to the morning session this year; The F4s, will    
start studying elective stream this year; And finally the F5s, time to prepare for your SPM!! So, lets GAMBATEH together!!! =]
