2010 to 2011!

Sorry i didn't post anything for the new year! But anyways school had start two weeks ago and im using this time as i am sick, to write about the start of this new year and the end of 2010 :)

In 2010, the biggest and greatest thing that happened to PMO and Chui Guan, was that we had successfully performed the seventh concert of our orchestra - 风雅颂。赋比兴。系列七之《拉萨行》. And up next on the list, which made me extremely happy, was that Chui Guan had such enthuastic new batch of little people, who have now grown into second formers. All juniors have also shown much loyalty to the orchestra, by keeping strong and persistent, when seniors were preparing for the concert, thus leaving the juniors a little behind. We hope the juniors don't mind as we were, honestly, busy, to make this concert a success. And i am proud to say, that Chui Guan has successfully made those, both the up-bringing of the juniors, and the orchestra's concert, a reality.

Exams have shown mre persistency and hardwork, not to forget, the determination of the youngs to perform at their very best. Many of you have done well, and you shall get what you deserve :D

As for 2011. The zuzhangs have recently held a meeting, a meeting to discuss the new start of teaching of Chui Guan. Especially for the form twos.
Here are some actually not so new rules (but lost rules) for the new year. FORM TWOS TAKE NOTE.

1) 教程进行中，seniors 不可自己闹玩，也不许跟新生闹玩，教程中只能有教书这个东西。（闹玩不代表不能开玩笑，闹玩代表你们男生时常像小狗一样在地上滚来滚去那种闹玩...)


2) Juniors 只被允许最多5分钟的休息时间，每次练习只被允许最多2次休息。休息只允许在华乐厅里（反正吹管能把水带进华乐厅里），最远只能去到楼下的厕所。


3) 每一位senior 在教程中一定要在，一个人在前面，其他人听。


4) 8.30 早上一定要到，无论是小的还是老的。调音以及粘笛膜。


5) make sure 9.00 早上小的已经准备好了。谱架，谱，地膜，音准等等。


6) 每一次练习都必须以基本功来开始。如：长音，吐音，五声音阶，七声音阶，双吐等等。基本功练好了才可以练歌。


7)  每一次练好了，如，完成一次的七声音阶，每一个在场的，无论是打拍子的，还是在听的，都得给评语以及点出他们的弱点，and 跟他们讲如何改变。


8) Form two 们，去年就失传了的簿子，请带回来。评语是你们去找senior或老师写的，不是 the other way around. 不要讲我们吃钱 -.-

Besides these new set of "not-so-new rules"... Here's a really new one that applies to EVERYBODY.

- Every absentees or late-comers or leaving early, MUST WRITE LETTER TO ANY OF THE ZUZHANGS. Absentees are responsible to inform their respective zuzhangs at least ONE DAY before the day to-be-absent, unless emergencies.
 

Anyways, this is this Friday's agenda:
- i want each and every junior de personal info :P (name, class, DOB, email, hp no, whether they have fb or not..haha :D)
- introduce yourselves!
- ask them to introduce themselves!
- interact AWHILE
- let them take D diao dizis from the di tong ( no dimo de)
- teach:
1) lip placement ( cross-shape placement method), try blow(open all holes first, dunid to cover any holes first) 
2) how to hold the dizi
3) DAN TIAN.
4) if everyone can manage to produce sound, lian chang yin and emphasize on using dan tian li!
5) DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT, teach zhi fa yet :)

Christmas is near Christmas shall be here! :D

-For those who celebrate Christmas and for those who don't, for those who have been good and those who haven't, have Happy, Wonderful, Awesome, Fun-filled, MERRY CHRISTMAS :D

As for us Form Threes who are going to claim our PMR results on the 23rd (so bad timing.. why right before Christmas Eve T.T), lets cross our fingers and wish and hope for the best! *hopefully*

Anyways... Not everyone was present for the theory exam which was held on the 18th.. Even so, i am disappointed to say that i am quite disappointed indeed for those who have aready sat for the exam... i have already marked your papers, and the results... eh hemm.. although the digits are similiar to those in the past years, but i thought u guys could do better. U guys are suppose to be mre guai than us T.T There were some questions,which were based on common sense and some based on xin sheng information (info for theory last year)... Oh well, whats past is already the past, ntg we can chg. Even so, for those who have not taken the theory exam, my marking will be mre strict as you were given mre and sufficient time to read up. As for those who have done all three (theory, practical, guan mo hui), use marching to pull your scores up.

OK. Time for urgency. Oh noooooooo! OD is coming!! How, u may ask, is that a bad thing? Well, for one, there is to be performance in our stations in PMO hall and i have forgotten to inform all about it. ehhem... *PAISEH*

Okay back to topic. First day guan mo hui dont have chui guan...so second day it is....

First reminder : Please please please and pleeeease don't ask someone else to purposely go on stage to flip to score for u. In real life du zou or biao yan thr ain't gonna be anyone thr to help u flip the score. if thescore is 3 pgs long, take either the first or last page and put it alongside the other pages. We provide clips. So if u're afraid that yr score will grow wings and fly away, ask for a few clips to make sure they don't x) Besides, Chuiguan de Guanmohui all in DK...no fan or wind to blow yr scores anywhr. And if yr score really flies due to who-knows-what reason, keep on playing. Kaoshi AJK will pick up the score for u, ok?

Second reminder : I don't know about the others, but Hong Liang's mistake was obvious... i have evidence; those who wanna see find me :D Althought this is ntg to celebrate about... just somehow glad that qiao managed to film it. Hahahah.. for those who are still blur, our only f2 guy was tapping his feet for tempo during Guanmohui. U guys should already know this is not allowed... Mainly because its not nice to see... Think about it, you don't see performers tapping their feet during a performance... During he zou, lets say the erhu start tapping their feet, what will the audience thk? Especially those who sit facing the audience, every move will be clearly seen. Dont thk we're Chuiguan, we sit on top during concerts so no one can see our feet so we can start tapping feet. NUH UHH -.- not allowed still.

Third reminder: Pu jia. Those who came on that particular Friday (fake Guanmohui) should already have been reminded or told. On every sheet of comments i wrote that day, sure gt a comment telling u guys to set the pujia in favour of yr height! Once u set the pu jia too short u start to tuo bei. #1 bu ya guan. Proper way to stand during blowing of dizi is to stand straight wiv your legs forming a "ba'. Left or right foot in front doesn't really matter. #2 When u start hunching your airways get blocked. "qi liu bu tong". Still got hor, if u set the pujia too high no one can see u edi, pujia cover yr face... no one can see you. One of the purpose of having guanmohui is to have ppl look at u when u play. If ppl can't see u then thr's no point having Guanmohui, right? Fortunately no one made this mistake *phewww*

Fourth reminder: Flute membrane. See the reason why i hope for you guys to come early? The 'membrane' has to get used to the environment before it can be used. If possible hor, come edi put bag in huayueting den straight away go to Dewan Kuliah. Just tell the Kaoshi AJK that u wanna diao dimo then they'll let u in. And after u're done with that, don't ever bring the dizi out again. Once its familiar with its environment, thr's no turning back.... bwahahahahahahah xD Or not, if u dun wanna bring the dizi in with the dimo, u might as well burst it and re-stick the dimo in Dewan Kuliah itself. And since thr's no water source nor is water allowed in Dewan Kuliah, the only way to do it is to use saliva *but definately not encouraged* 8D

Those that already went up to stage: Not bad! Did ur best.. But guess what? i thought it could be better. Keep up the workkkk!! x)

Those who haven't went up stage: u may ask those who already did and prepare yrselves for it! Dun make history repeat itself. LEARN FROM OTHER PPL'S MISTAKES :D APPLY THEIR GOOD POINTS ON YRSELF! And last but not least, keep practising!

anyways...PM*R trail is about overrrr...[yay] PM*R exam is about soon. And don't forget PM*O exams as well :P

We have no idea what songs we wanna 出, but since 陈捷老师 wants us to enter the solo competition, I say u practise solo pieces? ;)


For the form Ones this is the scope usually used every year... :

1) 观摩会          :  For 观摩会, its basically u stand in front of the whole 团,  and play :) 

2)乐理        : Theory. Consisting of the general paper and 乐器 paper. Last term they had Sejarah Paper. Dunno this year stil gt nt. Hope not ba ;D

3) Practical : This is One-on-Two either in the 小房，鼓房，or 华乐室. Its one (you), and 考官 (组长 & 首席). Here, consisting of two songs, one 规定曲 & 自选曲. Then you have aural, sight reading and etc etc...

4) Marching  :  This one is done by 团长们, in this Bobo and Yi Yan :P

First Post after Concert =P

Concert past 2 weeks d. No one post. Anyways Monday is PMR Trials. Wish every f3 good luck! :)

Congrats to de new Chuiguan zuzhangs as wellll including me x) lets bring winds to greater heights ;)

Nex up is tmr's xiao xing he zou bi sai. Good luck too :) if we can make our concert a sucess u guys can make it too even if u dun come home wiv victory. ALL THE BEST!
